Vinland Futures Research & Development Corporation (VFRDC)

Established in April 2017, the VFRDC promotes social and economic development in the area from Ship Cove to
L'Anse-aux- Meadows on the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula. Our geographical area includes ten (10) small rural communities "tucked into" the rugged and picturesque Newfoundland coastline.

Our area has a strong history and connection to the fishing industry. Our communities are vibrant and friendly with typical Newfoundland hospitality, welcoming visitors from around the world. Tourism continues to grow and prosper in our area. We boast that in our midst we have a UNESCO World Heritage / National Historical Site, and also the Norstead Viking Village, both in L'Anse-aux-Meadows. Additionally, there is the Raleigh Historical Village and the Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve, both in Raleigh.

We have groomed snowmobile trails as well as a cross country skiing and snowshoeing club for winter activities. We also have a variety of walking and hiking trails in the area. We have great restaurants, fine accommodations and fresh seafood, in season.
